Morgan Dene Oliver
Chairman
Dene is Chairman of OliverBuchananGroup and Chief Executive Officer of OliverMcMillan, one of the largest and most forward-thinking mixed-use development companies. The award-winning firm, known for revitalizing communities through real estate development, has designed, developed and manages more than eight million square feet of mixed-use projects, with a total project value exceeding $4 billion. Dene founded OliverMcMillan in 1978 with life-long friend Jim McMillan when the two San Diego natives began work on what was to become an award winning portfolio of redevelopment projects in their hometown. In the 1990s OliverMcMillan's work in the Gaslamp Quarter brought the firm widespread recognition for the re-gentrification of parts of downtown San Diego. OliverMcMillan was always guided by the principle that their projects must make a difference for the community and the area’s residents. Dene received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics from the School of Business Administration at the University of California at Berkeley. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California School of Law and attended the University of Southern California Graduate School of Business Administration. He began his career practicing real estate and business law at the firm of Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps.
Eric Buchanan
Chief Executive Officer
Eric co-founded the OliverBuchananGroup in 2021 and leads the day-to-day operation of the company. Dene and Eric share a long and successful working relationship beginning at OliverMcMillan, where they executed a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of Class A mixed use and multifamily development. Prior to forming OliverBuchananGroup, Eric was the Chief Development Officer at Oliver McMillan, where he led all development and construction activities for the firm. He had a similar role at Brookfield and Lifestyle Communities, as well as a decade long tenure in development at Archstone-Smith earlier in his real estate career. At all companies he covered multiple national markets and managed in house and third-party teams simultaneously. During Eric’s career, he has been intricately involved in the successful development of over 8,000 Class A apartment units in California, Colorado, Texas, Tennessee, Hawaii, Arizona, North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, Massachusetts and New York. His execution experience covers all multifamily product types, as well as complex urban mixed use including Class A retail, office, hotel, convention and civic uses. Eric is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and active board member of Colorado UpLift and Urban Youth Ministries, two Denver based nonprofit organizations focused on bringing long-term, life changing relationships to urban youth. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Asian Studies from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
Aaron Goldstein
Vice President of Development
Aaron is a Vice President of Development at OliverBuchananGroup and oversees projects under development. Aaron met Dene and Eric in 2015 and went on to execute $150m of development in Southern California and Arizona with OliverMcMillan. Prior to joining OliverBuchananGroup, Aaron was a Senior Director at Brookfield Properties (formally OliverMcMillan) where he oversaw development of several multi-family and mixed-use projects in Los Angeles. Aaron earned a Bachelor of Arts from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, Master in Architecture from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and a Master of Real Estate Development from University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA.
Robin Jones
Vice President Accounting & Finance
Robin joined OliverBuchananGroup in 2022 as Vice President of Accounting and Finance, and is responsible for all accounting and financial reporting for the firm. Prior to joining OliverBuchanan Group, she was the Director of Accounting at Brookfield Properties, where she was responsible for the financial reporting of their mixed use development portfolio. She had a similar role at OliverMcMillan, where she first worked with Dene and Eric, and led a large accounting team responsible for the financial reporting of multiple development and operating mixed use projects. During her career, she has worked for various real estate companies and REITs, and has almost 20 years of real estate accounting experience. She started her career as an auditor with Arthur Andersen, and holds an active CPA license. Robin earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from The College of William and Mary in Virginia.
Brian Fishman
Development Director
“Brian Fishman joined the OliverBuchananGroup in 2022 and helps to execute development projects in Denver, CO. Prior to the OliverBuchananGroup, he was a junior partner at M2 Development Company, maintaining a focus on multifamily ground-up projects in Denver. He has also held the title of Development Manager while with Revesco Properties. During his tenure there, he carried through ground-up and value-add retail and office projects in the Rocky Mountain Region. During Brian’s career, he has been intimately involved in the successful execution of projects of all sizes and asset classes, with experience and appreciation of the entire development process - from initial underwriting to stabilization and disposition. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Denver. Brian lives in Englewood, Colorado with his wife and two children.
Max Roemer
Development Associate
Max is a development associate at OliverbuchananGroup with a focus on financial underwriting and development research. Prior to joining OliverBuchananGroup, Max was an operations manager and oversaw day to day operations at his family’s medical refrigeration manufacturing company, Roemer Industries. Max earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. He currently lives in Boston, MA
